The platform for the app was developed by the young couple, Nishant Patni and Pranshu Bhandari, during their courtship period. They quit their jobs and decided to settle down with parents in Jaipur. This Jaipur based couple helps in solving the problem of effective communication for people across the globe.
Culture Alley was launched in October 2012 as a platform for English speakers learning a foreign language, it didn’t take them long to realise that learning English was a more urgent need for Hindi or Chinese speakers. This app helps subscribers learn the language through interactive modules which has been made exciting by using graphics and simple learning tricks.
The thing that’s most fun about Hello English: Learn English is that it includes a great game section. The eight minigames included in the app, you can practice your English in a fun and interesting way. Plus, there are games available for every level. Users no longer have to blindly follow a curriculum; they consume real-world content, from news to trending videos and stories, delivered to them in a mix of English and their native language.
This App helped people learn a number of languages, including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese, Italian, French, Korean etc, through various training models and even live one-on-one sessions with tutors via Skype.
According to Pranshu, traditional methods such as flashcards and CDs are no longer enough to keep students engaged but with Culture Alley’s modules and interactive games which try to address this problem. Since its launch, the app has become one of the most popular educational apps with over 4,50,000 downloads across more than 220 nations. Pranshu and Nishant encountered a problem which many people face and found a solution that turned into a business reality.
