Engaging children with meaningful activities leads to such wonder kids!
Zunaira Khan born to software engineering couple started coding at the age of 7. Her interest & love for technology developed while she accompanied her mother to the office during the vacations and after school hours. When most children at this age play games on their gadgets. She started taking interest in coding while she watched her mother do this. Inspired by mother she wanted to follow her footsteps. Zunaira’s mother saw the spark of the budding entrepreneur in her and took interest to coach her.
In our conversation, Zuniara talked about what got her interested in coding and the platforms on which she works.
How a seventh-grader started a company when still in school?
She made the best use of the Internet to learn HTML online at the age of 8. She started building up projects, her first project was my own website zunairawebsolutions.com now zminfocom.com. Then started working on small sections of client projects and now she manages projects of any size. Her quest for learning everything that she could about software Development, App development and Web development increased.
As her mother Nishat Khan has to say “she needs to be over the age of 18 to actually become an established company owner. However, we function like a company.”
As a parent, I’m happy to see my daughter doing a great job at such a young age. I’m very happy that my kid is utilizing time properly and making proper use of technologies.
They have clients who are handled by Zunaira and also coaches B.Tech Students. Till date, she has trained five batches of B.Tech students. She dedicates weekends and school holidays for her office work.
She is a student of Delhi Public School Hyderabad where she attends classes in the morning, then head back home and rest for a while. After which, she does her homework, and then spend time on company work. She maintains a balance between work and academics. Zuniara has one more feather in her cap of being a digital ambassador of the school. She is an inspiration to all the students.
Softwares which she has mastered at a young age.
She works on Web and Mobile applications and has mastered HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL database, JavaScript, jquery, json, Angularjs, Google iconic, Android framework at an age while most software developers find it difficult to master even after holding a degree.
Zunaira confidently speaks about her goals and the need to bridge the age gap in tech. She has quite a list of accomplishments under her belt.

How does it feel to be recognized at work and get covered by media?
I feel honoured. Makes me believe in whatever I’m doing — all my goals and passions, all my small dreams — were starting to make a bigger impact. It gives me motivation to keep working harder and to keep doing what I love.
What’s your favourite piece of tech?
Probably my computer. The number of things you can do with the computer — the amount of code you can write, the amount of things you can build, the amount of software you can create — it’s my favourite tech device.
